June 08, 2020
Dear Parents,
Assalam-o-Alaikum
We are delighted to inform you that we will be initiating online classes for our students from June 10, 2020. Due to the pandemic there is no definite timeline for as to when schools will re-open for students. If schools remain suspended for prolonged periods students will not get their education and in extreme situations skip an entire academic year. If children do not attend online classes and as a result miss their work, they cannot be advanced to the next class. Secondly, even when schools do re-open, the SOPs will make it difficult to cover the entire year’s syllabus. Thus, online classes are the way forward. Schools world over have opted for online classes to continue to impart education during these extreme times. Our Online Education System (OES) will consist of recorded lectures, assignments and live classes. Orientation and Time Tables will be shared on June 9, 2020.
Initially we will be using our school’s smartphone application to share information via links in the homework section and use zoom to conduct online classes. Assignments will have to be re-submitted via email to the class teachers. It is important that parents update or add their email address in the profile section of the school app. As this is a new form of teaching we will keep our OES moderate and easy. Once we all become familiar and adjust to online learning, additional services will be introduced.
Our teachers have already started training for this innovative form of teaching, putting in a lot of hard-work and effort. We are hopeful that we as a community will be successful in this new endeavour. As this is unprecedented there will be a settling period for all of us, especially students. It is thus requested that we work together with patience and commitment.
How will this work?
Your child will need to have access to either a computer or laptop with a good internet connection. A microphone, headphone speakers and a camera would be required. A tablet with a 4G SIM or mobile phones with a large screen are also an option.
Please ensure that you update or add an email address for our OES in the school app, profile section as links will be shared on this email address going forward. You may email us at support@studentacademy.edu.pk with your Childs GR number and mobile in case of any problems. Please ensure that email and app notifications are active on your handheld device.
Please take this as an investment in your Child’s education.
Pre-Primary Section:
Live classes via zoom will be held for students of Pre-nursery, Nursery and Kindergarten. You will receive an email before 9 am with a link to a zoom meeting. Timetable will be shared via email which shall contain details regarding class timings and assignments .
Junior and Senior Sections:
Links to recorded lessons and worksheets, subject wise will be shared via email. These links will be available for 7 days after which they shall be removed. Initially 5 subjects will be taught, namely; English, Mathematics, Science, Urdu and Islamiat. Monday through Thursday only 4 subjects will be taught. Friday’s will be reserved for Islamiat.
Timetables will be shared with you at the start of each week via email and the school app.
Assignments will have to be completed and submitted within the specified timeline. Details of each assignment and submission will be shared via email. Please make sure you retain a copy of the completed work for future reference and revision. Recorded lectures have to be listened to in a proper sequence. Do ensure your child is regular and does not miss any assignments or lectures as late submission of assignments will impact grades.
Once the assignments are checked by the teachers a live online session will be conducted on zoom at a specified date. Schedule for meetings and links will be shared via email. Please ensure that email notifications are active on your handheld device.
Going forward:
For the initial weeks the syllabus will be easy and flexible so that both teachers and students can familiarise themselves and comfortably settle into this new medium. Once settled in, timings and subjects will be increased. Furthermore, additional applications/software will be added to facilitate online learning. We intend to add several fun activities as well to make the experience as comfortable and attractive as possible.
Your duties as a parent.
It is important that you as a parent/guardian create an environment in which your child is able to concentrate. Ensure that your child wakes up on time, has his/her breakfast and dresses well for the online classes. It is best if the child is provided with a desk and if he/she is sharing space then perhaps a desk with partitions.
Parents and school staff have to work together to make the OES effective. Parents should provide feedback to help improve our system. You may either email us or call the office for feedback.
Please familiarise yourself with the online schedule to better monitor your child. Ensure that microphone, speakers (Headset) and camera are configured to allow these apps to have access.
Initially parents will have to involve themselves, however as children get familiar with our OES they will require less intervention.
Rules and Regulations for students:
Punctuality and attendance has to be maximum. A written explanation from a parent/guardian will be required for any absence.
Attendance will be noted, marked assessments will be taken regularly and will be made part of the final grades.
There shall be no other discussion other than the topic. Any disturbance or behavioural issue will lead to disciplinary action.
Troubleshooting:
There will be challenges at the initial stages, however you should not worry as we will ensure that your child does not miss his/her work. Live sessions will be recorded and can be played later.
You can email your respective section at the following emails in case of any queries or concerns:
pre-primary@studentacademy.edu.pk
junior_section@studentacademy.edu.pk
senior_section@studentacademy.edu.pk
Furthermore you may contact us at the school office during office hours.
Best of luck for the entire year and hope you all enjoy this new form of learning till such time schools resume full service.
Sincerely yours,
Mrs. Khadija Mohib
Principal

We are pleased to inform our parents and students that Student Academy has launched its smartphone application for Android and Apple phone users. Through the app the school will be able to share detailed information regarding students and general matters of concern. Besides notifications parents can view their child’s performance via the app. Timetable, attendance, homework, grades and fee information will be added very soon. Parents also have the option of updating their email and home address via the app.
Going forward the app will contain a payment gateway for fee payment. It will also give the school the opportunity to add additional services such as chat options. As we all become familiar with the schools online education system (OES) the app will help improve communication and information sharing towards virtual learning.
Please make sure to switch on notifications once the app is installed.
Thank you.
